COMPOSITION – Telmisartan 40 mg + Hydrochlorothiazide IP 12.5 mg
- An angiotemin II receptor antagonist that is highly selective for type I Angiotensin II receptors
- Produces mean reduction in supine tough systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure of upto 15.5 and 10.5mm Hg respectively Drag 2001, 6110 1101 29
- Associated with significantly lower incidence of drug, persistent cough
- Longer terminal elimination half life (about 24 hrs.) than the other angiotensin receptor blocker
