- A potent 2nd generation tetracycline with superior pharmacokinetic properties & lesser toxicity than 1st generation tetracyclines.
- Has broad-spectrum bacteriostatic activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
- Decreases clinical signs and symptoms of rosacea without affecting the skin flora.
- Works by inhibiting bacterial cell protein synthesis & effective in the treatment of pneumonia & anthrax.
- In acute intestinal amebiasis, doxycycline may be a useful adjunct to amebicides.
- Demonstrates an improvement in lung function parameters & treats acute exacerbations in COPD.
- Effective in the treatment & management of brucellosis.
